Healing Instruments

Tibetan Singing Bowls

Tibetan bowls sound therapy

Ancestral instruments originally from Tibet, made out of 7 metals (for the 7 planets). Each metal produces its unique tone and harmonics or overtones, which appear and disappear randomly. When they are used in a treatment, a sympathetic resonance occurs between the body and the vibrating bowl, and the harmonic that is needed will be produced.  The overall fundamental note of the bowl depends on its size and shape; the larger the bowl, the lower the tones. These bowls can remove blockages into the physical, emotional and mental systems, including the chakras, harmonising them as a result.

Tuning Forks

Tuning forks emit pure sounds that are represented as pure sine waves, without any harmonics. On the physical body, they can be placed on the bones and articulations, stimulating the flow of lymph and blood to the area of application. They can also serve as tools for vibratory acupressure. Given our vibratory nature and that of the forks, it is fast and effective through sympathetic resonance to bring each meridian and its corresponding organ into harmony. Placing the activated fork/s near the ears helps to regulate the entire nervous system, creating deep relaxation or stimulation, depending on which forks are used.

Native American Flute

Native American flute

This simple wooden flute comes from the Native American indians, who used it for ceremony and for courting. It is good for both, players and listeners, as it easily takes people to a meditative state of mind. It is also an amazing tool for transforming emotions, unlocking your creativity and opening your heart. Breathing is an essential aspect of flute playing, so it will help improve your lung capacity as well.  For more information about the Native American flute and its therapeutic uses, click here.

Shamanic Drum

The power of the drum has been acknowledged in many ancestral cultures across the world and it has been used for healing and bringing communities together. Its vibrations have a transformative effect on the body, allowing deep changes and transformation. It has been always an essential tool in shamanism as it can take us to trance states very easily. They can be also used for grounding and bringing people back at the end of sound healing sessions, and they help to reconnect with the Earth.

Other Instruments

Sound healing journeys

Other instruments that I use at my sound healing sessions are: rattles, shakers, rainsticks, ocean drum, bells, koshi chimes and sansula. Some of these instruments are only used in the group sound journeys. In the one to one sessions I use them at the end of the session for a short time, to bring people back.
